Sports Nutrition

Gain a competitive edge through nutrition

A sports nutrition program includes:

  • Full nutritional assessment (60 to 90 mins)
  • Weekly, bi-weekly or monthly 30 minute follow up consultations (based on individual needs)
  • Addressing any underlying health issues that may be affecting your performance
  • Customized meal plan and recipes
  • Advice on stress management techniques and other lifestyle factors that will help keep you at your best
  • This program will not only help you to reach your goals, but it will also help you to improve your overall health.

Having difficulties reaching your goals? Are you tired of putting so much effort into your training without any real payoff? Have you hit a plateau?

Whether you are a professional or amateur athlete, working to increase athletic performance or simply wanting to achieve your personal best, the food you eat and drink can impede or enhance your performance. Sound nutrition plays a key role in optimising the positive effects of physical activity, and can result in improved performance, recovery and injury prevention.

    Overcoming obstacles
Factors that may affect an athlete's nutritional needs include type of activity (aerobic vs. anaerobic), gender, weight, body mass index, workout or activity stage (for example, pre-workout or recovery), and time of day (as an example, some nutrients are utilized by the body more effectively during sleep). Obstacles that get in the way of performance are fatigue, injury and pain. A healthy holistic diet can reduce the negative impact of these obstacles to performance.

    A whole-foods first approach
Following a sports nutrition plan to meet your individual needs does not have to be complicated. By taking a whole-foods first approach, the majority of your energy and nutrient requirements can be easily met without having to rely on sports nutrition supplements, many of which (for a variety of reasons) have little or no nutritional or health-promoting value.

You are unique, and I pay particular attention to this when designing a sports nutrition plan to meet your specific needs.
